Women contain multitudes, and I want you to get to know all of mine. Some know me as The Aussie Publicist, some know me for personal style or philanthropy, and two very cute children call me “mama”. I proudly wear all of these hats and more, because I want to use this space to give you a peek into my real life, from PR to travel to style.
In 2011, I moved from Melbourne to New York to pursue a career in fashion PR. I worked for IMG Fashion, coordinating New York Fashion Week and Miami Swim Week, developing long-lasting relationships in the industry along the way. In 2015, I moved to Los Angeles to launch my own PR agency, which focused on representing Australian brands within the U.S. and creating space for women in business to learn and thrive.
My passion for mentoring others in the fashion industry continues to this day, providing scholarships for Black-owned brands to receive free PR representation as they grow. Today, I offer PR consulting services as I expand my career in the fashion space.
When I married my husband, Andrus Peat, we knew we wanted to give back to our communities however and whenever we could. Our philanthropic efforts in Arizona and New Orleans provide children and families with practical and educational resources and athletic opportunities. We’re also launching a new fashion-forward big and tall brand for men who want to enhance and embrace their personal style. Above all else, our proudest accomplishment and greatest love is our children. And even in changing seasons as a business owner and a mom, my love for fashion and travel is still alive and well!
Ashley Simmons the PR Director and owner of Simmons PR and Andrus Peat, Left Guard for the New Orleans Saints met in a rather unexpected way. “I was looking for an after-party venue for an event I was working on and he was leaning up against my bag on a ledge and I asked him to please move. He did and then he asked me to dance and I said no ... but we talked and I gave him my number”.
Balancing business, style, family, and philanthropy is an ongoing effort. I’m always learning how to juggle my many passions and responsibilities — and I know I’m not alone. But as a mom, a wife, and a female entrepreneur, I want to share my life in hopes of inspiring you to fight for your dream career and dream life, too. Providing a platform to those that may not have the opportunity to create their own is the work that truly matters to me. If I can offer you advice about career, style, or family, I’d love to help!
